Customer Reviews

Excellent build quality and very versatile.

Caveat #1: I don't golf, and I cannot comment on the quality of these shorts for that purpose- but I'm sure they are great. What I have done in these shorts is run, lounge, swim, bike, drive, dine, and build. I was looking for one pair of shorts that could do it all, and I believe these are it. They fit great, dry relatively quickly, and look good dressed up or dressed down. In terms of sizing, if you have a typical waist size, just go with that. I went an inch up from my usual "office pants" size because I wanted them to ride a little low and look good with my shirt off (avoiding the muffin top). I find the cut generous enough without surrounding me with acres of fabric, which has been my biggest objection to many mass-market shorts in performance fabrics. (I'm 5'10", 175 lbs) If I was always going to be tucked in or shirted, I'd go with the 32, but I like the 33 for the beach. Belted, they hit above the knee just like in the picture, unbelted, about a half inch lower. The rubber in the waistband can feel a little funny at first if you don't have anything tucked in. I noticed it when I first put them on and never again after that- no red mark on my skin after a day's wear or anything like that. Functionally, they just can't be beat. I did a 30 mile bike ride, built and sanded a picnic table, cooked and served several meals, went out on the town in a button down, and swam and frolicked at the beach in these shorts. I wore them several days in excess of 18 hours at a time. Just great shorts. If I had the bucks I'd probably pick up another color in a 32.

Versatile, durable and a great fit.
