The Aberdeen
In the north of Scotland, from whence the Glen Plaid pattern originally hails, just a quick swing to the east at the mouth of the rivers Don and Dee, one will find the Granite City, a.k.a. Aberdeen. Renowned for its beautiful grey stone architecture and its ancient universities, the city has always exuded an alluring combination of elegant sophistication and rugged Scottish charm – a town in which one can feel quite cosmopolitan yet very much at home.
Not a bad name, we would posit, for an equally elegant and comfortable Glen Plaid suit. Crafted in Canada from 100% Italian wool fabric, with a subtle blue undertone check, the Aberdeen is a fresh take on a timeless and beloved classic.
Bonobos has toiled long and hard to make the fit of our suits this year even better. We made the fit across the chest snug but not constraining for a trim look that's also comfortable. We made tailoring it to perfection even easier by making the button cuffs non-functioning. We boosted the heft of the pockets and interlining for added durability, and narrowed the lapels for a more modern look. We kept the same great attention to detail and appreciation of fine European fabrics and old world craftsmanship. If you've tried one of our wonderful suits before, you'll be amazed at how far we've come. If you haven't tried one before, now's the time to jump in the boat.
Customer Reviews
- Comfortable and fits well by Chris

The suit fits very well. The blue overcheck is very subtle and is more visible up close. I am probably a 41R and the 42R jacket fits more comfortably than a 40R. The only area of concern is that the buttons on the cuffs can make tailoring somewhat difficult if you have shorter arms. Overall, very pleased.
