When we made the Black Swans, we didn't know what you'd think of midweight black stretch corduroy. Now we know. You loved them, and you gobbled them up. While the Black Swans near extinction, a new black flagship cord sails in, and it's a rowdy bunch of pirates, indeed.

The Black Flags are the new staple black rendition of our midweight cord line up. We could write a long tale about the illustrious history of the Black Flag, a symbol that once represented the almighty bluster of the pirate ship hoping to intimidate target booty-laden ships into submission without a fight, and more recently the anarchist movement in Britain and the United States. Sure, there's a spirit of pirate mischief that lives on in these trousers, and the "pink-crazy-yellow" liner embodies a lawless design ethic. But really we made more of these pants because they sold well and you asked for more. After all, the pirate life is grossly over-romanticized, and anarchy is wildly impractical.

What's great about the Black Flags, though, is that they work well in just about any outfit - pairing with all those work shirt button downs, any color sweater (save brown) or a cool t-shirt and sneaks. You didn't even know you needed them, and now these velvety black trousers are on your starting team. "That's beautiful, what is that, velvet?"
