Everyone should own a pair of snapdragons. These beige colored stretch wool trousers carry a subtle herringbone pattern. Sophisticated, comfortable, versatile... the Snapdragons can be worn to the office every day. We have made them a bit more exciting than your average dress trouser by running the entire internal operation (waist band, pocketing, and lining to the knee) with 100% silk. We always wondered why high end men's pant's are finished with cotton and polyester inside, but rather than talk about it we just stepped up and brought you something much better: a ridiculously cool and smooth fabric that better connotes the level of luxury, in a funky floral pattern that will dazzle those lucky enough to get close enough. We work tirelessly to bring you better trousers, and this is our latest innovation.
As for the name, well the entry from Wikipedia pretty much explains it; the silk liner made us think of the word snapdragon...
Snap-dragon (also known as Flap-dragon, Snapdragon, or Flapdragon) was a parlour game popular from about the 16th to 19th centuries. It was played during the winter, particularly on Christmas Eve. Brandy was heated and placed in a wide shallow bowl; raisins were placed in the brandy which was then set alight. Typically, lights were extinguished or dimmed to increase the eerie effect of the blue flames playing across the liquor. The aim of the game was to pluck the raisins out of the burning brandy and eat them, at the risk of being burnt. According to an eighteenth-century article in Richard Steele's Tatler magazine, "the wantonness of the thing was to see each other look like a demon, as we burnt ourselves, and snatched out the fruit."
NOTE: Snapdragons 1 have a floral print liner. You may also want to check out Snapdragons 2 which have a multistripe liner
