T’was in 1492 that Columbus sailed the ocean blue; he had three ships and left from Spain; he sailed through sunshine, wind and rain. And what three crafts spirited him to discover new lands for Mr. Ferdinand and Mrs. Isabela? As any school child will tell you, the Nina, the Pinta, and the . . . Panta Maria? Yes, we do believe it was the Panta Maria, a vessel manned by the fine-trousered mariners and cordquistadors of yore. And we commemorate that slack-wise schooner with a pair of navy blue midweight cords that bear the same name: the Panta Marias. Land ho! And we claim it for pants.
