After one exchange for size, I had the hems done and wore the pants today. I'm so pleased, I'm actually writing this unsolicited. I've not had pants fit this well for a long time. There is something about the cut of the waist band, the backside and the medium rise that works for a guy my size (short and slim). Thanks.
Feels really cheap
I normally do not post reviews, but feel obligated after I received these pants. I really liked the fit of the pants, but the wool was just way too cheap, thin and shiny looking (especially for the price).
I'd heard great things about Bonobos, so as you can imagine I was pretty surprised to see this was the quality they're putting out there.
A little too baggy
The new thigh width makes them look a little sloppy. After my old pair tore around the back pocket just from sitting in them I exchanged them. But this is the new version they have and they unfortunately took the route of comfort over appearance with the thighs which are now cut like pants you could buy at Brooks Brothers or Kohls. I used to like how slim everything at Bonobos was.
I tried these on at the Guideshop and they fit great, so I but them on my birthday wish list. My (awesome) sister got them for me and even got them hemmed for my convenience. However, when I tried them on the fit was way off (very tight in the front so the pockets flared out).
I brought them back to the Guideshop and the sales person admitted that they have had quality issues with these pants, and said that I probably received a "lemon". But he wouldn't take them as a return because they had been hemmed. I was surprised and reminded him that they didn't fit anything like the samples in the store, but he wouidn't do anything for me. I've now had to bring them to a good tailor to get them fixed, looks like that will cost an extra $60.
Needless to say, a very frustrating experience.
