The Foundation Suit Pant - Charcoal

What you need to know

There are a handful of things a man simply must have: a trade to call his own, a pair of sturdy shoes to get where he's going, some basic knowledge of drink-smithery, and a high-quality, all-purpose suit ready for when he needs it. And when it comes to the last of those masculine essentials, any of three classic colors will suffice: grey, charcoal, or navy. Combine that palette with world-class materials, craftsmanship, and fit, and you"ll find yourself with one amazing suit, ready for any and every occasion. With this in mind, BONOBOS is understandably excited to present the true foundation upon which a wardrobe is built; the fundamental great-fitting suit that every man wants and needs, crafted from the finest Italian Marzotto wool, tailored for the most perfect of fits. Introducing: The Foundation Suit, new from BONOBOS.

BONOBOS has toiled long and hard to make the fit of our suits this year even better. We made the fit across the chest more accommodating so more of you out there can wear it. We made tailoring it to perfection even easier by making the button cuffs non-functioning. We boosted the heft of the pockets and interlining for added durability, and narrowed the lapels for a more modern look. We kept the same great attention to detail and appreciation of fine European fabrics and old world craftsmanship. If you've tried one of our wonderful suits before, you'll be amazed at how far we've come. If you haven't tried one before, now's the time to jump in the boat.

100% Marzotto Wool
Medium rise, with some magic in the seat to be comfortable but not frumpy
Curved Waistband for better fit and no bunching of fabric
Dry Clean Only
Straight Leg - As wide at the leg opening as at the knee

Nice Pants but...

Overall I'm pleased with these pants: very nice material, great fit, comfortable, attractive cut (my girlfriend likes the way my butt looks in them) but a couple things to know before you purchase them: 1) I wear a 34 waist in every other pants and jeans, including other pants from bonobos such as their corduroys and and limoncello casual pants--in these pants though, a 34 was far too small, so I had to send back for a 35 which fits fine--I recommend starting with one size larger on the waist. Easy and free returns made this only a minor nuisance. 2)The lining in these pants stops mid-kneecap for me, meaning every step I take, I feel the edge of the liner rubbing my kneecap if I'm taking longer strides. Not a dealbreaker (I'm still wearing them), but I would think that for 228 bucks they could give us a couple extra inches of liner so this wouldn't happen. Or back it up a few inches so it ends unobtrusively mid-thigh.
