About the Brand
ONIA’s designer and founder, Carl Cunow, is not new to the world of fashion. Prior to launching his collection of men’s swimwear, Cunow worked as a production coordinator under the Director of Production for menswear at Steven Alan in New York City. During his four years at Steven Alan, he learned the ins and outs of manufacturing. Cunow discovered the best way to produce clothing without sacrificing quality, a skill that can only be mastered through observation and application.
The ONIA collection is a direct result of Cunow’s experience with luxury goods. He works alongside the fabric mills to produce a cotton/nylon fabric that is unique to the ONIA brand. The fabric is sourced from Japan and Korea and made in the United States to ensure the highest quality. This precise choice of fabric allows each piece to be both breathable and quick to dry, two aspects of the product that makes the ONIA collection one-of-a-kind.
Cunow aims to “produce a men’s swimwear line that is not only stylish and comfortable but technically designed and built for the water." The product is adaptable and perfect for any summer occasion, whether it be a day at the beach or a walk to town. It’s New York City meets the beaches of the Hamptons all in one piece.
