Congratulations, I guess, but I’ll be curious to see what this does to the Bonobos brand. Fashion’s a fickle thing and, I’ll be honest, I buy Bonobos in part because it helps me avoid dressing like people who watch The Today Show (or, more accurately, husbands of people who watch The Today Show).
I know it sounds like whining, but I feel like you sold out your loyal customers for a shot at the Oprah audience. Best of luck with that.

Jim—
Thanks for your thoughts. Honestly, I don’t see how we’ve sold out our loyal customers—we’ve remained true to our original vision of offering men great pants (and other products, too) via a more enjoyable, technology-enabled channel. The Today Show thought that would be a cool story to tell, so we let them.
We’re running a small business, after all! We can’t turn down national PR! Thanks again for your support.

I am very impressed by the PR you guys are getting. Are you using a firm for it or doing it all yourselves? Also, I disagree with Jim Ray. No brand is “too cool” for national publicity of this kind. And Tiki Barber is a great interviewer to get.

Congratulations on the Today show press; that’s awesome! I love my Bonobos pants! Keep up the good work.

Guys- thought the TODAY segment was right on. Congrats on giving your brand a great boost. When you guys are ready to roll out some product in the Southeast give me a call here in Charlotte, NC. I have some of your pants and think we could sell the “H” out of them here at Paul Simon Co.
We are always looking for a great niche brand with your kind of story behind it.
Best of luck!! Dusty

I heard Brian is no longer with your company and that he has been kicked out…

Mahdi—
Quite untrue! As we scale our product development team, Brian’s becoming a senior member of the Bonobos Board of Directors. He’s still a top shareholder and will continue guiding the company, though in a less day-to-day capacity than previously.
Feel free to direct any further questions my way, marshall@bonobos.com. Thanks for reading!
