Are you happy with your dress shirts?

Dave Eisenberg — November 18, 2009 @ 12:46 pm

We’re hearing pretty frequently that you’re not, and we’re hoping that we can help. Our design, sourcing, technology, and marketing teams are working in concert to bring you the perfect dress shirt. We’re getting there, but could use some more input from our customers and fans.

So if you’d like to tell us a little bit more about your current dress shirt assortment, please check out the survey here:

It’s super short, just four questions. We’re likely to do a more in-depth survey in the coming weeks. Or, follow our Twitter surveys to earn free prizes. Thanks!

Ninjas vs. Robots

Marshall Roy — November 16, 2009 @ 2:54 pm

I told you the robots were nigh.

This past weekend, a crew of ninjas road-tripped up to Andover, Massachusetts, with Bonobos’ entire inventory in tow. They dropped everything off at a robotic warehouse and fulfillment center, and so began a new era of speed and accuracy in the history of Bonobos’ shipping. (I haven’t rooted for robots over ninjas since The Matrix sequels.)

Check out John, Judy, Dustin, and Becky with the warehouse crew and Bonobots… and also racing the Bonobots.

We return to our style blog tomorrow with a post about how to care for leather jackets (in the same vein as our previous post on caring for dress shoes).

The Social Scholar: A lifestyle blog you might actually use

Marshall Roy — November 13, 2009 @ 5:57 pm

We love men’s lifestyle blogs—it’s fun to imagine being the type of guy who might actually buy a deactivated F-14 ejector seat for his living room, or a freaky three-wheeled concept vehicle, or shot glasses made of petrified lightning.

But what if you just want to know which local pub has a good drink special tonight? Or how to nab a cheap flight to Europe? Check out The Social Scholar, a new site aimed at “college students and men and women in their 20s and 30s living in towns across the country. We’re not going to be telling you which nightclub added Double Cross Vodka to their bottle service menu, but we will let you know when your local craft brewery is giving away free tours and samples, when the First Annual Power Wheels Racing Series launches, and when Patagonia.com is offering 25% off all items purchased online.”

These guys are just getting warmed up, but if they can provide the practicality that other lifestyle blogs currently lack, they’ll be a new favorite among the Bonobos crew.

Bonobos to be honored by the Corduroy Appreciation Club tonight

Marshall Roy — November 11, 2009 @ 3:45 pm

Tonight, the Corduroy Appreciation Club holds its biggest annual meeting (11|11 is, after all, the date which most closely resembles corduroy) in Brooklyn.

According to its website, “The Corduroy Appreciation Club wishes to cultivate good fellowship by the advancement of Corduroy awareness, as well as, understanding, celebration, and commemoration of the fabric and all related items. Club events are held on dates which incorporate, resemble or refer to corduroy.”

Among various secret rituals of devotion to this regal, timeless fabric, the Club will will be honoring Bonobos for its achievement in the field of corduroy pants. Attending the meeting to accept this honor (wearing no fewer than two garments of corduroy apiece, the sternly enforced minimum) will be Bonobos’ own Dave Eisenberg and Scott Peterman.

Hail the Wale!
