Origin

Our original Oxfords are made of 100% long staple Egyptian cotton, and is woven and finished in Japan. They're sturdy, rugged, incredibly versatile, and get softer and gain character with age. They are a bit heavier weight than our new All-rounder oxfords, making them ideal for a more constructed, dressy looking collar stance. You'll look like an educated dresser, which is why we named them after famous alumni of Oxford University.

We like Jeremy Bentham. He's kinda like a Ben Franklin lookalike who was into a lot of the stuff bonobos are into: gender equality, animal rights, shirts. A child prodigy, he matriculated at Oxford at age 12. Too young to wear the official student gown, he stood out in class with his schoolboy's shirt, which featured a button down collar intended to help young boys stay tidy. It became his trademark, and was later mimicked by future forward thinking Oxford students seeking to follow in the footsteps of a respected jurist and reformer. Fast forward 80 years to the turn of the century and the Oxford shirt hits the US, where it's instantly popular with Ivy prepsters, classic dressers, and child prodigies.

We love our take on a classic for it's hefty yet soft fall weight, slightly trim classic fit, and back collar button to help keep you tidy.

Great by Joe: I am 6'2 and 245. I work out a lot and have always had issues with oxfords/button ups being too tight in the arms/back area or shirts just being too big and not looking nice. I have always had to get big shirts, then have them altered to have the waist and sides brought in....no more!!!! I have this shirt, and all the ones like it except the wine color (been waiting but out of stock) and they are great. i wear them to work, untucked with some cords for the weekend and it never fails to get a compliment from my wife. Heavy material and nice detail in fabric. Fit and look are second to none.
Perfect Oxford by Preston: A few weeks in and this blue oxford has quickly risen to favorite shirt status. The fit, is perfect right out of the box. The sides, arm length, and wrists are spot on, but the best part is that arm holes are higher than most off-the-rack shirts and don't give you flabby arm syndrome. The fabric is heavy enough that you don't even have to iron the shirt if you hang dry.
Awesome by John: I'm >6'2"/195 and a medium is perfect for work, the bar or the bball court; there's nowhere this shirt doesn't make you look awesome, but don't trust me, live in darkness and look <
Awesome by Lane: The fabric on this is perfect - much of the weft thread is exposed, giving the shirt a real depth and texture that I like. The button on the back of the color makes wearing anything but the thinnest of ties very difficult, though. Wish that button was lower on the collar, or gone altogether. Also, note that I'm 5'7", and the sleeves on a size small are way, way too long. But overall a terrific shirt; I wear it all the time.
Awesome by Patrick: I've never been a fan of Oxfords. I don't know why but I just never really liked them. I decided to give these a shot and now I love Oxfords. The fit is great, the look is great, and I feel awesome when I wear this shirt. Goes really well with almost all of my Bonobos pants.
Awesome by Justin: Wow, really love the oxfords. Great fit, for me they were less boxy than the sport shirts. Excellent construction and the weight is right on- not too heavy or too light. Would love to see more colors and maybe some striped patterns in the oxford series.
