Scarves
Opera singers wear them to protect their precious voices, soccer hooligans sport them to pledge their team allegiance, and snowmen don them to keep their heads from tumbling off into the snow. And why should you wear one? Well, any of these reasons would probably suffice, particularly if you’re a mezzo-soprano with a penchant for pub brawls and a wobbly noggin. But the fact of the matter is, a scarf is easy to wear, offers extremely effective protection from the cold, and, if we may be so honest, looks really, really sharp on those especially brisk days. Over a sweater, under a long coat, shoot, on a snowman if that’s what suits you – scarves are an essential accessory come the cold winds of the season, and staying warm never looked so good.
